I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and have managed a period of rest and relaxation before the beginning a New Year and a whole new Decade! Thankyou to all those who contributed to the Christmas celebrations in the Village and to those who prepared for the Christmas Services. It was a special time- singing carols by candlelight, supping mulled wine and seeing the children dressed up for the Nativity!
The start of a New Year always has a certain freshness about it. It seems even fresher at the moment with the white snow lying on the ground! We often consider New Year resolutions and have hopes for the months ahead. Some of you will be embarking on new ventures in 2010 and others will be content to settle for good health and continued happiness.
As a Nation we all live in anticipation of a good few months of party rivalry before the next election and we pray for the safety of those within our families, friends and acquaintances who may be living in uncertain times.
Whatever life holds for you this year I hope that periodically you will feel drawn to being part of the Church family- where we are reminded of God’s constant faithfulness through all the peaks and troughs of life. Perhaps worshipping God – giving Him thanks and praise- can be part of our New Year’s resolution?
